Tough times make strong people – which is why, throughout their thirty-year history, Muff Potter always reflected the era they were living through. Back in the early days of the late nineties, they shaped German punk rock like no other band with albums as powerful as “Schrei wenn du brennst”(1997). Then, in the years that followed, they very consciously incorporated more indie and pop elements into their music, cementing their status as one of the most important bands since the fall of the Berlin Wall with “Gute Aussicht” (2009). Then it all came to an end. After largely giving the 2010s a miss, Muff Potter celebrated their return first in 2019 with a completely sold-out reunion tour. Then in 2022 came the album “Bei aller Liebe”. One thing was soon clear: the four punk bards still united a crashing guitar sound with lyrics that were as poetic as they were provocative, while pointing out the greasy stains on society's otherwise immaculate shirts. The line-up hasn't changed, but their musical repertoire has grown considerably. Stylistically wide-ranging, Muff Potter delightfully straddle the genres on their new album “Klepto” (2026), clearing out the rubbish and breathing new life into German indie rock once again. So now it's high time to see them live and in colour on stage.
