Thanks to their commanding stage presence, HEADSEND not only hold their own against the immortal grunge legends of the 90s, but are also setting new standards for what made the genre great back then – both in the studio and on stage. A certain anarchic attitude towards composition and production is naturally at the forefront, but there are also eager distortions that cut through the plaintive melodies piece by piece like the scent of a lost love wafting through memories of loss. Add to that a bass that grooves playfully along and percussion that is treated with such precision that even Dave Grohl would have nothing to complain about. Songs of the calibre of “Stove” and “Chugg” (2025) are accordingly the final proof needed that HEADSEND represent a new force in the contemporary alternative scene – one that likely very few had anticipated. Their debut EP, “Angel Glands” (2026), realigned even the harshest critics’ ears at the start of the year, cleared out every eardrum with raw energy, and made it clear once and for all that the grunge revival is real and here now. Given the spirit of the times, it’s not a moment too soon. Highly recommended.
