The Icelandic Sports and Olympic Federation (ÍSÍ) has in recent years received funding through the Erasmus+ funding scheme of the European Commission for the European Week of Sport.
The European Week of Sport is held every year from 23 to 30 September in over 40 European countries. The aim of the project is to promote sports and general physical activity and to combat increased physical inactivity among the public. The Week of Sport is intended for everyone, regardless of age, background or physical condition. Special emphasis is placed on mobilizing the grassroots and encouraging people to move more in their daily lives. Europeans unite under the slogan #BeActive
