It’s not just powerful dogs that come from Rottweil. Four years ago, the oldest city in Baden-Württemberg also gave birth to some wild metalcore with an eclectic range of influences, and the band has been causing quite a stir in the local metal scene ever since. Avralize already blew away the competition at SchoolJam in 2020, winning the up-and-coming band contest to thunderous applause. Barely a year later, the quartet released their debut EP “Into Darkness” (2021) and, unsurprisingly, set the stages ablaze at the Hurricane and Southside Festivals in 2022. Thanks to their insanely intense live shows, they’re soon the talk of the town and draw comparisons to Northlane or Bring Me The Horizon, though they sound significantly more electronic, adventurous, and tightly played. How they manage to pull this off at such a young age remains a mystery to this day. One thing is clear: Avralize can’t be pigeonholed into dusty genres; instead, they delight in exploring the spaces between djent, progressive metal, and electronicore, proving their versatility time and time again.
